Accident safety experts have offered parents who may be feeling the holiday stress factor some tips on how they can keep their children safe in foreign climates.
David Walker, spokesperson for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, said that the number one thing parents can do is to keep their kids as close by as possible.
"Problems often happen on the first or last days of the holiday when parents are busy checking in and out, so be vigilant," he urged.
Other tips include using a rota system to watch children if there a re two of you, telling children not to open the door to a stranger in hotels and making sure they are properly supervised in the pool.
