Anyone lucky enough to be jetting off on cheap holidays in Tenerife this weekend may wish to head to the Siam water park in Costa Adeje. The newly-opened attraction is to stage the Tenerife Champions Cup for European volleyball as of tomorrow (October 4th), the Tenerife Tourism Corporation (TTC) has announced. Billed as the Canary island's most challenging sport event of the year, the competition will see Britain's Jody Gooding and Robert Miedzybrodzk compete against players from countries including Spain, Germany, Russia and France. Many supporters are expected to turn up for the event, with entertainment provided for children so that mum and dad can settle back and enjoy it. A trophy and a cash prize will be presented to the winners on October 5th. "The Tenerife beach volleyball tournament is already a key sporting event all over Spain but aims to become an internationally-recognised competition in the coming years," said the TTC. Siam is now the biggest water park in Europe and encompasses some 185,000 square metres of attractions. As well as the water rides, there are numerous restaurants, bars, cocktail bars, chillout areas and even a Thai floating market, LoveTenerife.com reports. More than 52 million euros were invested in the park in order to provide a unique experience for tourists to the Canary island.
