'Now is an ideal time' for Turkish holidays - 03rd Oct 2008
Anyone looking for cheap holidays in Turkey may be interested to hear the opinions of one of the resort's hotel representatives.
Orhan Kavala, general secretary of the Bodrum Hoteliers Association, told the Turkish Daily News that holidaymakers may be able to get a bargain now most of the other tourists have gone home.
"September and the first weeks of October are the best time for [people to] holiday in Bodrum. The coasts are empty. Hotel staff offer better service because they are not too busy," he commented.
The Turkish resort of Marmaris was also recently recommended by Vicky Mayer, writing for the Mirror, who said that the area has great beaches and food - and beer costs a third of its price in Britain.
She also said tourists in Marmaris should not miss the bazaars held each Thursday, which offer a variety of things for sale, including mother of pearl jewellery boxes and stylish handbags.
