More people are choosing to book their holidays online, a new poll has discovered. According to the research, carried out on behalf of the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta), 57 per cent of respondents booked their last holiday on the internet, as opposed to the 27 per cent who booked through a travel agent. Perhaps surprisingly, the age group most likely to do so was the 25 to 44-year-olds, 68 per cent of whom had made an online holiday booking. This could be due to more people relying on the opinions of their peers when looking for holiday destinations, with 51 per cent rating feedback on travel websites as important, compared to the 30 per cent who valued feedback from a travel agent. In August, the Association of Independent Tour Operators said many people are now booking their holidays in advance rather than giving up on the idea of fun in the sun. Anyone looking for a cheap destination to look forward to for next summer could consider booking cheap holidays to Tenerife. The Canary island remains one of Britain's most popular holiday destinations, thanks to its beautiful coastlines and spectacular beaches, as well as its mixture of mountains, forests and deserts, Tenerife News attests.
