Holidaying in Turkey gets easier with new flights - 09th Oct 2008
People going on cheap holidays in Turkey may find that more package deals are available following the introduction of new flights from Stansted.
Turkish carrier Pegasus Airlines has launched a new route from the Essex hub to Istanbul, taking the total it offers per week to five, Travel Mole reports.
The new service will depart every Friday at 13:15 BST, arriving in the Turkish capital at 18:50 local time.
Ali Sabanci, Pegasus chairman, said the route will be particularly useful to holidaymakers, "especially with the wide availability of quick and easy connecting flights from our Istanbul hub to 16 destinations around Turkey and North Cyprus."
Pegasus was founded 18 years ago and is Turkey's most established airline.
Earlier this month, Orhan Kavala, general secretary of the Bodrum Hoteliers Association, told the Turkish Daily News that now may be a good time to book cheap holidays in Turkey as bargains are now likely to be available.
